In the year 5020 of Kaliyugaviz Siddharthi, month of February. In the late evening hours of a day, a Brahmin from a village called Pazhayacheri approached Swamiji, and had a question and answer session on the subject UPAVASAM (Fasting).

To start with Swamiji tested him by asking some questions like
A. Who are you?
B. From where did you come?
C. Who am I?
D. In what way we are different from each other?

Following this Swamiji encourages him to ask questions regarding this subject and for this he gives very clear explanation. There he says, the real meaning of UpavasamUPA means BY THE SIDE and VASAM means THE ABODE OF ALMIGHTY. This is only to simplify that you have to search the truth, only by practicing this, Rishi Vishvamithra after realization was titled VISHWAMITHRA meaning (NITHYA UPAVASI).
